The 5 day intensive self defence for women instructor course is a unique training experience providing participants with an opportunity to become registered self defence (for women) instructors with a leading UK Krav Maga / Self Defence organisation.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING EACH PHASE OF THE TRAINING?

The 1st Day

Here’s where your training begins….You will have the opportunity to experience first hand our hugely popular and highly successful 1 day self defence for women course, where essentially you will be both student and trainee Self Defence For Women Instructor and through both observation and ‘PLENTY’ of hands-on participation, get a feel for what it takes to run a successful course. Please be aware that other participants may not necessarily be training to become instructors, so we ask that you be patient (as this is something you will encounter daily as an instructor).

Days 2 to 4

You will carry on with your training with reinforcement of techniques and theory already taught to you on the first day of the course but will also be shown new techniques and new theory to take on board. You will also be training with the opposite sex as we want you to be accustomed to training with and possibly making use of the opposite sex in your own courses going forward

Day 5 

On day 5, the final day of the 5 day self defence for women instructor course, you will be taught to understand & extol the differences between sport orientated martial arts & self defence and learn to draw up lesson plans, make adaptations to techniques and break techniques down for ease of assimilation. You will also be taught the teaching, practical execution and physical training methodology that is unique to the British Academy of Krav Maga and be given advice in regards to setting up, marketing and promotion of your own course/s going forward.

This course totals 5 days of 4 hours+ tuition per day, equalling over 20 hours of in-house training + another 30+ hours of free school membership to reinforce techniques taught or even practice your teaching under the guidance of the main class instructor.

So, all in, and assuming you could make the free group classes you would receive a total of over 50 hours training.

COURSE FLEXIBILITY

The course offers enormous flexibility in regards to dates for training, in that we run the 5 day training section bi-monthly and if you can only do a section of a course we are happy for you to come back at a later stage to complete as necessary. This has been done deliberately so that applicants could be given more choice and flexibility in regards to timings in relation to their own personal & work commitments. We would, however, recommend that you try to do all days as close as possible as if you leave it too long between phases, you may find that you are rusty with the techniques & theory taught to you.

Missed days can also be taken as a  private training option if the dates shown do not work with your diary (there would of course be a supplemental charge based on our normal private training rates for this)

FAQ's

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE 5 DAYS OF THE SD 4 WOMEN INSTRUCTOR TRAINING?

Day 1. You attend and participate in an SD for Women Course. Days 2 to 4 You reinforce and attain more theory, skills and knowledge in regards to self defence with other attendees (some of whom will be male). Day 5 we concentrate on your techniques and break down of the techniques for teaching your courses going forward and on this day you will also receive a grade commiserate with what you have achieved (techniques wise) thus far.

DO I NEED TO BE FIT TO DO THIS COURSE?

Not at all, as this course is designed for any individual no matter what their fitness level as teaching self defence or Krav Maga isn’t necessarily about being an MMA type of person or professional fighter for that matter (but having martial arts or combative experience will obviously help!).

WHAT CLOTHING OR EQUIPMENT DO I NEED?

Besides a notebook and pen you will need your normal gym gear, a sweat towel, snacks and a bottle of mineral water to keep yourself hydrated whilst training.

12oz to 20oz boxing gloves, sparring MMA gloves, boxing wraps, a groin protector, shin guard, mouth guard and flat soled style trainers or even better wrestling shoes are also recommended.

CAN I GET A REFUND, CHANGE MY COURSE DATE?

If you book a course and cannot make it then we can offer you an alternative date if the one you booked does not suit for whatever reason. You just need to let us know which alternative date/s suit and we can make the change.

We will not, however, refund a course unless the request is over 28 days before the course start date
