Grading week is exactly what it says on the tin. We have set weeks throughout the year for students to try for their next grade, with the grading assessment being spread over that particular week.
To be eligible for grading assessment you must be a REGULAR membership of a BAKM school and have the relevant attendance / experience / knowledge for the grade that you wish to be assessed for and of course have proof that you have paid for your assessment online.
If you pass the assessment you will receive a certificate and club T shirt displaying your new grade
If you fail either day 1 or day 2 of your assessment week then we will NOT refund your payment, but you will be eligible to grade for FREE next time round by simply producing proof of your payment & registration for the week you failed and you will only have to retake the day (or days) that you failed.
In other words, if you passed the fitness, sparring and kick strike assessment (day 1) but failed the techniques assessment (day 2) then you will only have to attend day 2 again the next time round
To Pass Your Grading
To pass your grade you need to attend & pass 2 grading assessment days in the grading week with age, size & gender considerations taken in account for day 1.
Day 1: Is an assessment of your fitness, controlled sparring (relative to grade & can be just stand up or stand up and ground, or weapon to weapon ) and both boxing and kick / strike combinations (again, relative to grade)
You are eligible for day 2 assessment only if you pass day 1
Day 2: Is an assessment of 5 to 10 randomly chosen techniques from the grade that you are being assessed for and you must get a 100% pass mark for each grade
For blue and above we test all techniques from yellow to the grade that you are being assessed in
