Privacy Policy
Any data that you submit using our web form or through email [email protected] will be held by Krav Maga Ltd trading as The British Academy of Krav Maga as Data Controller and will be held securely and in accordance with [the General Data Protection Regulation][the Data Protection Act 2018] for 6 months before being securely and confidentially destroyed. Your data will not be disclosed to any third parties without your consent or as otherwise allowed by the relevant Data Protection legislation and will only be used for responding to your query (or purposes associated with that purpose).

Terms & Conditions relating to: British Academy of Krav Maga (School Membership, Courses, Seminars & Private Training &/Or Related Activities)
THE BRITISH ACADEMY OF KRAV MAGA (Hereon known as BAKM)
1.1 The British Academy of Krav Maga is managed by Krav Maga Ltd, C/O The Snug @ Kelly’s Farm, Bell Lane, Birdham, Chichester, PO207HY.
2. ACCEPTANCE OF MEMBERSHIP
2.1 The decision to accept the application of a potential member shall be at the sole discretion of BAKM. BAKM reserves the right to verify, or require proof of all information given in order to obtain membership and any fraudulent or wrongful information given in order to obtain such membership could result in the cancellation of all membership rights and lead to the repayment of all monies due to BAKM. If the membership application is accepted by BAKM, membership of BAKM by the applicant shall commence as stated on the agreement.
2.2 The acceptance of an application for membership of BAKM shall constitute a legally binding agreement between the member and BAKM. The member hereby agrees also to be bound by BAKM rules, a copy of which can be provided by asking the Chief Instructor.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
3.1 The member acknowledges that BAKM obligations and liabilities in respect of BAKM are defined in this agreement and/ or within the Regulations Applicable to All Users.
3.2 The member is responsible for the consequences of any use of any of the facilities of BAKM. BAKM will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, damage, costs, expenses, theft or damage to property, whether arising under contract, or otherwise.
PHYSICAL HEALTH OF MEMBER
4.1 The member warrants and also represents that he/she is in good health and is not knowingly incapable of engaging in either active or passive exercise. The member further warrants that such exercise would not be detrimental to their health, safety, comfort, well-being or physical condition.
MEMBERSHIP
5.1 The categories of membership are as follows: Basic Membership (Mixed group or single sex classes admittance for up to 2 classes per week for 1 person) and / or any other classes that may be added from time to time at the discretion of the BAKM Chief Instructor shall be paid Monthly or Annually. All categories of membership shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions of Membership which are in force at the time.
5.2 Other categories of membership shall be stipulated by BAKM from time to time.
•MEMBERSHIP CHARGES & PAYMENT OPTIONS
6.1 All members or trial class attendees are liable to pay all fees irrespective of actual usage of BAKM facilities.
6.2 Members must elect to pay their membership fees in monthly or annual instalments by recurring debit or credit card payment, annually, or in full (Life Time).
6.3 BAKM reserves the right to increase Membership fees at any point. If paying by recurring debit or credit card, the contract is for a minimum term of 1 month (the period). Following the first period, BAKM OR ITS AGENT will continue to take monthly or annual payments / instalments unless written notice (an email will suffice) is received by BAKM at least 30 days prior to proposed termination date.
6.4 All monthly payments are priced for 11 months & divided & collected over 12 months so we do not cancel or suspend payment collection over the 4 week school closure period of 2 weeks in December / January & 2 weeks in July / August.
6.5 All trial bookings once booked are non-transferable and non-refundable
6.6 By signing up to receive any BAKM product or service the customer understands and gives permission for BAKM to collect their relevant email addresses according to the BAKM privacy policy.
CAUSES FOR SCHOOL MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION.
You may terminate your membership at any point with 1 months notice. Please note that if you relocate or become ill that we will not refund payments to you as it is up to you to terminate your membership (and you can do this anytime) nor will we refund if you have opted for an annual or lifetime membership as this service will still be available to you. Please also note that once you give 30 days notice that if a recurring payment fails within this period that it will be taken and you will have that period to still attend classes.
EXPULSION OF MEMBERS OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP BY BAKM
8.1 BAKM may expel members or may terminate the membership of any member:
8.1.1 without notice and with immediate effect if the members conduct, whether or not such conduct is the subject of a complaint by another member or group of members, is such that in the reasonable opinion of BAKM, it may be injurious to the character, name or interests of the Academy or is such that it renders the member unfit to associate with other members of BAKM.
8.1.2 By notice in writing if any part of the fee or monthly membership charge which is due and payable remains unpaid thirty days after the due date for payment.
8.2 Lapses in membership payment will incur an Administration charge.
8.3. A member whose membership is terminated by BAKM, shall forfeit all privileges of membership with immediate effect without an entitlement to any claim for any refund of their annual or monthly membership fee.
ACADEMY FACILITIES
9.1 Certain categories of membership do not include all of BAKM’s services and facilities. Services and facilities not so included may be provided at an additional charge at BAKM’s discretion.
9.2 BAKM reserves the right to make reasonable alterations to the type of facilities provided without notice and BAKM shall not be liable for any inconvenience caused by building works and for the provision of essential maintenance services that occur for 14 days or less, due to matters beyond our control or improvement works.
HOURS OF OPENING 10.1 Information in relation to BAKM’s normal hours of operation and the opening hours of the facilities are available from BAKM upon request. Such hours may be lengthened or shortened at the absolute discretion of BAKM with or without any prior notice being given to members. BAKM shall do it’s best to give members reasonable notice of change to such hours.
10.2 On occasions when necessary maintenance is required, BAKM, or parts thereof, may be closed. Any refund given as a result of closure will only be made at the sole discretion of the Chief Instructor, Director or Manager.

JOINING A COURSE
13.1 You can join the school or book onto one of our courses online at www.krav-maga.org.uk
HOW TO BOOK PRIVATE TRAINING
14.1 You can book private training with an initial contact email, with your name, contact email & contact phone telling us what time/s / day/s you would like to train. We will then come back to you in regards to what availability we have for private training and if this works we will book you in for your first private session with your appointed instructor. If both you and your instructor are happy you can then book in sessions going forward.
PAYMENT
15.1 Payment for the school membership or to trial a school class or to join one of our courses must be made online at www.krav-maga.org.uk
15.2 All payments for private tuition are made direct to your instructor after we have arranged your initial session with your appointed instructor (see: HOW TO BOOK PRIVATE TRAINING)
FEES
16.1 All BAKM training courses listed on the website are subject to VAT at the current rate.
GROUP DISCOUNTS ON COURSES OR SEMINARS
17.1 A discount of 5% is given if 3 or more people book on the same course, running on the same date, from within the same organization. This discount only applies to BAKM courses (and is not for school membership, trial class or private training). The discount will be refunded to the group after full payment from all parties is received.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
18.1 BAKM will make every effort to accommodate special requirements that have been notified at least 21 days in advance.
JOINING INSTRUCTIONS
19.1 Joining instructions including outline of the day (or days) venue details, map and local details will be issued approximately 1 week prior to the course. If you have not received your joining instructions three days prior to the training course, please call +44 (0) 7961 090218. BAKM will not be held responsible for non-receipt of joining instructions and refunds will not be issued under such circumstances
COURSE TRANSFERS
20.1There is no charge for transferring your booking to the same course on an alternative date provided you notify the BAKM in writing (email, letter or fax) more than 28 days before the start and if there is availability. However, a transfer fee of 20% of the course fee (plus VAT) will be payable if the notice is received less than 28 days before the start of the original course. No refund will be made in the event of a transfer and no more than one transfer will be allowed. Requests to transfer a course must be made in writing and can be sent by email to [email protected]
CANCELLING YOUR COURSE
21.1 If you notify BAKM in writing (via letter, email or fax) more than 90 days before the start date of a course, you will receive a full refund less an administration fee of 20% (plus VAT) of the course fee. If you withdraw for whatever reason within the 90 day period, the full fee will remain payable even if you are able to nominate a substitute attendee.
NON-ATTENDANCE
22.1 If you fail to attend a course on which you are booked without giving prior notice to the BAKM as outlined in “CANCELLING YOUR COURSE” or miss part of a course for any reason whatsoever, we will not refund the course fee/s and we will not transfer you to any other course or other product
CANCELLATION BY BAKM
23.1 Where circumstances dictate, BAKM reserves the right to alter published courses, programs, trainers, fees or venues without prior notice. In the event of a course being cancelled by BAKM, an alternative course date will be offered but no compensation will be paid for any additional costs incurred due to a cancellation of any course.
VENUES
24.1 Details of the specific venue will be sent in the joining instructions for all training courses.25. DRESS CODE 25.1 For all courses, seminars & school classes or private training we recommend participants wear flat soled training shoes, track suit type trousers & a T shirt.
LIABILITY
26.1 BAKM does not accept responsibility for any injury or anyone acting as a result of information or views expressed on its training courses, including course material. Opinions expressed are those of individual contracted trainers or coaches and are not necessarily those of BAKM. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations.
